Fill Adjacent Cells
Filling is a method used to enter data into rows and columns of a spreadsheet. You can either copy the contents of one cell into adjacent cells, or fill adjacent cells with a series of data.
Copying Cell Content
Select the first cell and drag to the last cell you want filled.
From the Spreadsheet menu, select Fill, then one of Down, Right, Up, or Left. For example, if you select Left, the value in the rightmost selected cell is used to fill all selected cells through to the leftmost selected cell.
Filling in a Series
Use the Stop At value to specify the integer at which the fill stops. Once an entry has reached the stop value, no additional cells in the column or row are filled.
From the Spreadsheet menu, select Fill, and then Detailed. The Fill dialog opens.
Click the direction to be used for filling. For example, if you select Left, the value in the rightmost selected cell is used to fill all selected cells through to the leftmost selected cell.
(Optional) Enter a Step Size. The Step Size is the amount by which you want to increase or decrease the cell values in the series.
(Optional) Enter a Stop At value. The Stop At value is the value at which the fill stops. Once an entry has reached the stop value, no additional cells in the column or row are filled, even if more cells were selected.
Click OK.
