Solving Inequalities Graphically

Main Concept

Inequalities can be represented graphically:

y>fx is the set of points above the graph of y=fx.

yfx is the set of points above or on the graph of y=fx.

y<fx is the set of points below the graph of y&equals;fx.

yfxis the set of points below or on the graph of y&equals;fx.


The combination of multiple such inequalities is represented as the intersection of the sets mentioned above.


Use the drop down lists to choose a linear equation, and choose whether to set it greater than, greater than or equal to, less than or less than or equal to 0.
