The Physics Package within Maple was designed exclusively for physicists by physicists. It seeks to decrease the reliance on pencil and paper so that physicists can focus more on ideas, rather than the underlying mathematical calculations. The goals of the Physics Package are to:
- implement a computational environment truly oriented for developing physics knowledge
- reproduce the information presented in papers and standard textbooks in an easy-to-use tool
- allow access to internal routines of the tool so that users can develop specialized physics applications
- work together with physicists from around the world interested in development of the environment
