Bookmarks

Use a bookmark to mark a location in an active worksheet. The Bookmarks option in the Format menu allows for the creation, modification, and deletion of bookmarks.

Ensure that the Markers feature is active. Hidden attributes such as bookmarks in a worksheet are made visible when the Markers feature is active. From the View menu, select Markers. A vertical bar is displayed in the left pane of your worksheet. New bookmarks are indicated by icons in the vertical bar.

Create Bookmarks

|
Create a bookmark at a particular location in the active worksheet so that you can go to it from other locations within the worksheet or by using hyperlinks from other worksheets.
|
1.
|
Place the cursor at the location you want the bookmark.
|
2.
|
From the Format menu, select Bookmarks. The Bookmarks dialog opens.
|
3.
|
Click New. The CreateBookmark dialog opens.
|
4.
|
Enter a bookmark name and click Create. The new bookmark appears in the Bookmark dialog list. Click OK to accept this bookmark.

|
Rename Bookmarks
|
|
|
Change the name of a current bookmark.
|
1.
|
From the Format menu, select Bookmarks. The Bookmark dialog opens with the current bookmarks listed.
|
2.
|
Select the bookmark you want to modify and click Rename. The Modify Bookmark dialog opens with the name highlighted. Enter the new name of the bookmark and click Replace.
|
3.
|
The renamed bookmark appears in the list. Click OK.
|
|
|
Delete Bookmarks
|
|
|
Delete existing bookmarks.
|
1.
|
From the Format menu, select Bookmarks. The Bookmark dialog opens with the current bookmarks listed.
|
2.
|
Select the bookmark you want to delete and click Delete.
|
|
|
Go To a Bookmark
|
|
|
Move the cursor to the location of the bookmark in the active worksheet.
|

From the Edit menu, select Go To Bookmark. The Go To Bookmark dialog opens with the current bookmarks listed.
|
2.
|
Select the bookmark you want and click OK. The cursor moves to the bookmark.
|
|
|
Link to a Bookmark
|
|
|
Create a link to an existing bookmark. There are two methods to create a link to an existing bookmark: use the context-sensitive menu to create a link from existing text, or insert new text that will include the link using the Insert menu.

Using the Context-Sensitive Menu
|
|

Highlight the text that will contain the hyperlink.
|

|
Right click on the text and select ConvertTo and then Hyperlink from the context-sensitive menu. In the Hyperlink Properties dialog, the selected text will be displayed in the Link Text area.
|

|
Select Worksheet from the Type drop-down menu.
|
4.
|
Enter or browse to the desired Maple document, or leave the Target area blank to link to a bookmark in the current document.
|
5.
|
From the Bookmark drop-down menu, select the desired bookmark. All bookmarks in the selected worksheet are available.

|
Using the Insert Menu
|
|
1.
|
Position the cursor in a text region where you want to insert the link.
|
2.
|
From the Insert menu select Hyperlink.
|
3.
|
In the Hyperlink Properties dialog, enter the text in the Link Text area to display as the link, or select Image and choose an image to display as the link.
|
4.
|
Select Worksheet from the Type drop-down menu.
|
5.
|
Enter or browse to the desired Maple document, or leave the Target area blank to link to a bookmark in the current document.
|
6.
|
From the Bookmark drop-down menu, select the desired bookmark. All bookmarks in the selected worksheet are available.

|
|
Cut/Copy and Paste a Bookmark
|
|
|
To cut/copy and paste a bookmark, you must select the entire paragraph referenced by the original bookmark. Note that selecting only the associated heading does not copy the bookmark.
