Articulated Forestry Skidder

This model represents a non-standard vehicle topology that can quickly be modeled with MapleSim and the MapleSim Tire Component Library.  The vehicle body is split into two halves connected by a revolute joint that allows articulating motion. The vehicle steers by rotating the two halves of the body with respect to each other. There is no suspension; the only compliance is provided by large pneumatic tires.

The model uses a Fiala tire to model the tire/contact patch interaction.  The simulation is of a lane-change maneuver with braking applied to each of the four tires.
