Waterloo, Canada; 30 July 2009: Maplesoft today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Cybernet Systems Co., Ltd., a Tokyo-based major Japanese importer/distributor of CAE (computer aided engineering) software. By combining the skills of two leading-edge organizations, the intent is to drive further innovation in the development and promotion of advanced math and engineering software worldwide. The acquisition is expected to be completed at the beginning of September of this year.
Cybernet recognizes the potential of Maplesoft products, and supports Maplesoft’s efforts to be a leading provider of high-performance software tools for engineering, science, and mathematics. Cybernet worked with Maplesoft for many years as a highly successful reseller of Maplesoft products in Japan, substantially growing the math and engineering customer base in both the academic and professional markets.
