This application plots the response spectrum of accelerometer data recorded during the El Centro earthquake in 1940. A response spectrum is a plot of the maximum response of a system to differentfrequencies of input excitation.

Accelerometer time-history is first imported. These plots are then generated:

• acceleration time history
• absolute acceleration response spectrum
• relative velocity response spectrum
• relative displacement response spectrum
• pseudo velocity response spectrum
• pseudo acceleration response spectrum
• displacement time history
• velocity time history
• acceleration time history

The code uses the Newmark-beta method for numerically integrating the differential equation for a harmonic oscillator with a single degree of freedom.
